Slovakia has implemented the Quotation for criticism or review (Art. 5.3(d) InfoSoc) exception in Section 37 of the Copyright Act. The national exception closely resembles the EU exception.

This exception allows for the use of released works or parts thereof by means of quotation primarily for the purpose of review or critique of the work. Use must be in accordance with custom and its scope may not exceed the scope justified by the purpose of quotation.

Pursuant to §35(1) of the Copyright Act, the name of the author or his pseudonym, if it is not an anonymous work, as well as the work title and source, must be stated in all cases under §37 and § 39.
