Romania has implemented the Use for the purpose of caricature, parody or pastiche (Art. 5.3(k) InfoSoc) exception in Article 37 (b) of the Law No 8/1996 on copyright and related rights. The national exception is slightly more restrictive than the EU exception.

This exception allows for the alteration of a work if the result of the alteration is a parody or caricature, provided that the said result does not cause confusion with the original work and the author thereof.
