Lithuania has implemented the Reporting by the press on current events (Art. 5.3(c) 2nd part InfoSoc) exception in Article 24(1), p.2 of the Law of 18 May 1999 No VIII- 1185 on Copyright and Related Rights. The national exception is slightly more restrictive than the EU exception.

Remarks: The exception extends to neighbouring rights as per Section 58(1), p.2 of the CA, allowing the reproduction, communication to the public of short extracts from objects of related rights in reports of current events, to the extent justified by the informatory purpose to be achieved.
