Lithuania has implemented the Photocopying/photo-reproduction (Art. 5.2(a) InfoSoc) exception in Article 20' of the Law No VIII- 1185 on Copyright and Related Rights. The national exception is slightly more restrictive than the EU exception.

Implementation summary:

This exception allows for the reprographic reproduction, effected by the use of any kind of photocopying technique or by some other process having similar effects, where a work is reproduced on paper or any similar medium, for private use, but not for purposes of commercial advantage, of a lawfully published article or any other short work, or a short extract of a writing with or without illustrations. The provisions does not apply to the reproduction by means of reprography of the whole text of a book or a major part thereof, or sheet music. A compensatory remuneration must be paid via collective administration associations for services of reprographic reproduction provided to natural persons as well as for reprographic devices and by the persons who provide services of reprographic reproduction as well as the persons selling reprographic devices.
